Advancing Water Infrastructure Resilience: Preparing for Climate Change Impacts
As I sit here, staring out at the ever-changing landscape outside my window, I can’t help but feel a sense of unease. The weather patterns that once seemed so predictable are now erratic and unpredictable, leaving me and my community constantly on our toes. It’s a stark reminder that the climate is changing, and we need to be ready.

Over the past two years, more than 100 million Americans have been personally affected by an extreme weather event. From the record-shattering heat wave that hit Puerto Rico to the devastating storms in California, it’s clear that climate change is no longer a distant threat – it’s a crisis that’s here, now. And as the leader of a water treatment and environmental services company, I know that we must be at the forefront of this battle.
But where do we even begin? The challenges are daunting, and the stakes are high. That’s why I’m excited to share with you the steps we’re taking at Inland Waters Inc. to prepare our water infrastructure for the impacts of climate change. It’s a journey that’s both inspiring and humbling, and one that I believe can serve as a blueprint for communities across the country.
Building a Resilient Water Infrastructure

And as the leader of a water treatment company, I know all too well the critical role that clean, reliable water plays in maintaining the health and well-being of our community.

This includes upgrading our pipes and pumps to be more resilient against extreme temperatures, as well as implementing advanced water recycling and desalination systems to help us better manage water scarcity.

At the same time, we’re advocating for greater federal and state support for climate resilience efforts. President Biden’s Investing in America agenda is a game-changer, providing more than $50 billion in funding for climate resilience and adaptation projects across the country. And we’re working closely with our elected officials to ensure that our community gets its fair share of these critical resources.
